What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help sites remember your preferences and understand how you use the service.
Cookies we use
This table describes what actually runs on renovyn.io. The last three only appear if you allow analytics.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| wos-session | Keeps you signed in (WorkOS). Strictly necessary. | Session |
| cookie-consent | Remembers whether you allowed analytics, so we do not ask again and do not run anything you refused. Strictly necessary. | 6 months |
| _ga, _gid | Google Analytics. Counts visits and which pages are read. Set only if you allow analytics. | Up to 2 years |
| ph_* | PostHog product analytics, hosted in the EU. Gives your browser a random identifier so repeat visits can be counted once. Session replay is switched off. Set only if you allow analytics. | Up to 1 year |
| Optic | Optic, our website monitoring provider, which may store an identifier on your device. We are still establishing exactly what it collects, so we gate it with the rest of the analytics rather than assume it is essential. | Not established |
Your choice
You can change your mind whenever you like. Withdrawing is as easy as allowing, and takes effect straight away.
Strictly necessary cookies
The sign-in cookie and the cookie that records your analytics choice are required for the site to work and to honour your decision. They cannot be turned off. They do not track you across other sites and they serve no advertising purpose.
Analytics
Analytics are off until you allow them. If you do, PostHog and Google Analytics record which pages you open and roughly where in the world you are, tied to a random identifier rather than to your name. That is pseudonymous, not anonymous: with effort it could be linked back to a device or an account, so we treat it as personal data. Session replay is disabled in our code, so nothing records what you type or what your screen shows. No advertising cookies are ever set.
Managing cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking authentication cookies will prevent you from signing in. For instructions on managing cookies in your browser, visit aboutcookies.org.
